The way I connect with the world around me is through observation. I notice colors, shapes, patterns, relationships, and moods. Through this foundation I seek to capture moments; a thought, a feeling, or a revelation. Not long ago, I decided to blend my love of art and musical theatre. I began capturing moments backstage during theatrical performances. The figures in my work are all St. Louis based actors who reveal small yet truthful moments as they wait for their cues.
Portraits are also a passion of mine. I find the seemingly simple art form full of complexities. My goal is portray the figure's inner light through the outer representation.
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri where I began drawing at an early age. I double majored in Musical Theatre/Arts Management, and received a minor in Visual Art from Lindenwood University. I recently graduated with my Masters of Art in Teaching from Webster University and am certified to teach art from grades K-12. I am currently teaching elementary art.
Additionally, I have been hired all over the St. Louis region. My work has been seen at local businesses and professional theatre establishments. Patrons have commissioned me as a portrait artist, window artist, muralist, and illustrator. My original work has been admired and purchased by a variety of supporters.
